Wings Academy

On Friday, June 1^st, Wings will be hosting an end of the year get-together beginning at 1:30 until the end of the school day.  Parents are encouraged to join their child/children for a fun-filled afternoon.  There will be opportunities for each family to choose items such as books and workbooks as part of our parting gift to you!  We would also like to make this event a “dessert potluck”.  If you are able to bring a dessert to pass, please contact Kim Johnsen via email (canoestar@gmail.com) or phone (744-3956) by Wednesday, May 30^th.  We are looking forward to this event and hope to see you there!

Join us at 4-7:30 pm on 3/22/12 or 3/23/12 at 8am-12pm for Parent/Teacher Conferences. The teachers will all be in the gym so that meeting with staff will be more fluid that in the past. Each parent has 15 min. to meet with a teacher.

The Scholastic Book Fair is also open on the stage in gym during conference times!

The school will also be displaying Academic Club project work from the 1st-8th grade students.

A key aspect of this partnership is the involvement of parent volunteers. Teachers request the help of parent volunteers to prepare materials, complete projects, chaperone field trips, and help with class parties. If you would like to volunteer in your child’s classroom, let your child’s teacher know of your interest.

We are glad your child is a part of Wings Academy. We intend to do our best to make each child feel safe, welcome, and excited about learning. We are proud of our educational program; it’s a unique program that seeks to bring out the very best in every child while helping them deal with any challenges they face. As part of this, we are the only school in the area to use the Orton-Gillingham method to increase the students’ reading and writing abilities.

If you have any questions, feel free to call us to schedule a conference or stop by for a visit. Please remember: A) You must stop by the office and sign in when visiting the school, and B) You must do so Before visiting the classroom. No Exceptions!
